Dead Week

So this "dead week" is officially over and now all I have ahead of me are two finals. I took four courses this semester and lucked out by having two canceled. Unfortunately though, the two finals that I have are in classes that I am very unsure about...Business Calculus and Intro to Psychology. I have Psych on Wednesday and Calculus on Thursday. I can only hope for the best and hope that the studying I am about to start tomorrow pay off.

In other "news," I will be making my first trip to Nebraska since Emilia's 21st birthday back in October 2005. I will be going on Dec 26th until the 29th to celebrate the Christmas season with my family whom I haven't seen since the Spring of 2005. I am very exciting to go back, but am definitely not looking forward to the very cold weather. Luckily we haven't had real bad weather here yet but I am sure they have had some back in Nebraska. But anyway that it was has been going on here. I will post pictures of my trip to Nebraska...until then...

911 Cover Up

Regardless of your political party, everyone should watch this video

Because I Knew You

Lately I have been thinking about my own life and how the people in it influence me. No no no it isn't a bad thing. In fact I want to thank each and every person that has come into my life. Without YOU I wouldn't be the person I am today. Whether our relationship was brief or is still going on, I thank you! Some are very horrible and neither one of us would like to remember the situation, but I will always remember because it helped me regardless of the outcome.

Below is a picture that was sent to me. It is from the musical "Wicked" and from the song "For Good." If you get the chance you should download the song or buy the album and listen to it. You will realize just how much you need your friends and you will also realize how much the friendship you have with them mean to you.

Hell Week is finally over!

Ok so I just got through what I would like it to forever be known as "Hell Week."

First of all, I had exams all week: Psychology on Monday (which always sucks to have an exam on a Monday), Business Calculus on Tuesday, and 1 of the 2 exams in History on Thursday. All three of these exams were extremely hard, especially considering that I haven't been in a scholastic setting for over a year! I THINK I did fine though, well except for Psychology. I already got that test back and I got a "C" on it. It made me so mad because I studied hard for it, trust me I was not the best person to speak to on Wednesday when I got it back (I was pissy!)

Secondly, our good friend was having pregnancy problems so she went to the hospital. She suffered from a disease called "mirror disease" where whatever happened to her unborn child would also happen to her. This is a fatal disease so they got her baby out (Sea-Section). They were able to save the child and her for a short time, the next day her child died due to body failures. We had his funeral this past Friday--he was smalled than the palm of your hand :(

Finally, well actually this is what started hell week...John's (my boyfriend) dad had a massive heart-attack and was hospitalized. He was there for pretty much the entire week while the DRs studied him to make sure everything was all right. He went to the Radiologist and they found that his arteries were collapsing which was causing his heart problems (not to mention he has a numerous amount of other problems).

It has been about a week and a half now and he has not had any kind of surgery to fix the problems. On Tuesday he will be going through a test to check his kidneys? or liver? I cant remember which one, but they have to do that before they can set a date for his actual heart surgery.

Although I am not a very religious person, lately I have been praying for not only John, but his family. His mom (my mom) needs it the most. Yet she is somehow holding herself together for her family...I envy her so much for how she is handling herself throughout this ordeal.

Please say a prayer for our family and keeps us in your hearts. We will get through this eventually, but right now we just can't take anything more.

Peace and love

Good News! She's Dead!

So today I got an email from the "Wicked" website. They had released their 2006-2007 tour dates...and can you guess which city is on the list???? LOUISVILLE! I am so excited that none of you could believe! Of course I already seen it in Chicago, but I would see it over and over and over again. It's my favorite musical of all time...RENT being a close second. Ok let's see what else happened today...

I have just started learning Danish...on my own. I am using "Teach Yourself" book and CDs. I think they are working great. I learned how to say my name, where I am from, where I am going, introduction and addressing people. I also learned how to say the one word that I am starting to really hate..."sorry." Anyway here are some of the things that I can say now:

Velkommen til Danmark! Welcome to Denmark!
Kommer du ogsaa fra Koebenhavn? Are you also from Copenhagen?
Nej, jeg kommer fra USA. No, I am from USA.
Jeg hedder James. My name is James.
Hvad hedder di mor? What is your mother's name?
Hun hedder Lorraine. Her name is Lorraine.

Ok so I haven't really learned that much but I am getting there. This book has like 20 chapters so it may be a while before I can actually talk to a Dane. As long as I have my dictionary and my study guides I know I can master this language. Then who knows what language I will try to conquer next...maybe German!

But for now...farvel.

First Blog...new pictures!
